Most often, what we overlook are the things that matter, the seemingly inconsequential things that are the essence of life. You're a blessing to me in many ways including those I may not perceive or acknowledge. By *you* I mean you, yes you... You've made 2013 a year to remember and I just can't bypass my appreciation...

Belov'd One
BELOV'D ONE
I'm love struck
Struck by your love
Like the strings of the harp
On which this tune is played
Struck, by a thousand fists
Of love venting it's vehemence

IT'S A ONE WORD 2
We paused what we were doing to make sure we'd heard right, discussions suspended, the hustle and bustle of getting ready for a new lecture temporarily dismissed, notes and materials debarred from completing their voyages from bags. She repeated herself "I say hope you are enjoyed your holidays". All doubt was cleared, the problem wasn't our auditory anatomy, it wasn't a chance gbaguan, it was deliberately conceived, packaged and delivered, standing before us was a master sheller, and we were about to be blown apart.
An excited murmur passed through the class as looks and words summarized to "did you hear that?!" were exchanged. People like me picked up their pens and recorded the new entry in a special dedicated notebook labeled "gbaguan inventory". After much ado and pleas for decorum from our distinguished professor of grammatical disconcord, the class quieted down and we continued...

My Book Story 1
me, aged 15, just fresh out of secondary school, single, seeking admission, going through changes, friends far away... This is a picture of me with the love of my life (then), I took this picture the way you'll take a picture with your spouse, your best friends, your new car, your priced awards or any other thing you love as I love my books.

MISHAP
MISHAP
I woke up this morning late as usual, hurried straight to the kitchen as usual (stop thinking that, I brushed first) to make breakfast. I woke up hungry, also as usual, probably because of the late night snack I had last night, still as usual. It's said that eating late at night 'll make you super hungry the following morning. It could also possibly be because I hardly slept, I was awake all night, causing trouble on twitter, gossiping with peeps on BBM and Whatsapp, uploading, tagging and commenting on pictures on Facebook, setting that P through night call and of course, creatively writing. Now you know why I woke up late, guess I come alive in the night time, but you don't know what my eyes beheld in the kitchen, it was unusual.

LIT LEGENDS 1: WILLIAMS SHAKESPEARE
William Shakespeare
How much do you know about the legend, Williams Shakespeare?
What you wouldn't know about Williams Shakespeare and only I would tell you is that, he influenced my writing and much of my speech. I remember reading TWELFTH NIGHT OR WHAT YOU WILL at age nine. Not the summarized one that many of you would have read, but the original version written by him in the " eth, thee, thy, ere, whereof" language of the Renaissance Period in which he lived. It was a difficult book to read, even my mum who owned it, probably didn't enjoy it, but had to read it to get her degree. Anyway, I read it, start to finish, appendices as well, and was fascinated by the poetry, style and the speeches, like the duke's line in the first act, "if music be the food of love, play on..." A poem, or was it a

AT THE TUNNELS END
BY KINGSLEY U. AYISTAR
Although they say
My future is bleak,
I believe, one day,
I shall have what I seek.
They may laugh or glare
Although they say
My future is bleak,
I believe, one day,
I shall have what I seek.

YOU AND I
YOU AND I.
There is a difference between you and me.
A difference clear for all to see.
I am me and you are you
And everybody can see that too
.
You and I are different in many ways
In what we do and what we say
What we feel and what we believe
And what we live to achieve.
The difference is very simple.
You and I are two different people.
You take your decisions and i make my choices.
And we both have different voices.
I lead my life and you live yours.
And that indeed distinguishes us.
Whatever I do affects only me
so leave me, let me be.

books make us grow
what do you think makes us grow?
tell me please, I would like to know
is it the food that we eat
or its the air that we breath
maybe its those weights that we lift
or its just nature's gift
oh! its the proteins and vitamins
and kinins and thyroxins
.................................................
My horizon is expanded by reading..... Wole Soyinka
